So a classic science fiction trope is time travel. Novels, books, and entire tv series are built around this premise. It seems as if it a given in any series. It is a well loved plot device by many writers.
This all said: I HATE TIME TRAVEL!
I can see why many writers love to include it but I fail to see the appeal. My complaints are mainly aimed at comic books.
Let me explain. In the 1960s (please note that I am not entirely sure if it was 1950s or 1960s but point will still stand. Yes, I was too lazy to look it up. Oh, shut up and don't bother complaining in the comments), DC created the Legion of Superheroes. LoS was a team from the future that was basically a new JLA (biggest of the big for DC). Well has the comics aged, the premise of this series did. Point in place, they meet Superboy A LOT, yet never tell him about I don't know Lex Luthor, Darkseid, and maybe Doomsday! I know reboots happened and stuff, but it always made these kind of stories unimportant in long one. I skip time travel most of the time.
That's all for now.
